Influenza Vaccine Update

Flu season is upon us. We are concerned about your health and encourage everyone to get vaccinated annually against influenza.

It’s critical that everyone who is able receives a flu vaccine. It’s essential that active duty service members, active duty family members and other beneficiaries are well-protected from influenza.

Every year flu puts hundreds of thousands of people in the hospital. Flu vaccine can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, hospitalizations and has been shown to be life-saving. Fight flu and get vaccinated at the EACH Community Flu Drive!

EACH will be offering flu vaccines at the following dates and times For All TRICARE Beneficiaries ages three years and up & Department of Defense Civilians:
Oct 24: 5-8 p.m.
Oct 25: 5-8 p.m.
Oct 26: 5-8 p.m.
Oct 27: 5-8 p.m.
Oct 28: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where: EACH Soldier Family Care Center Conference Room 1004 (Next to Starbucks). The SFCC is located on the East Side of Evans Army Community Hospital (Parking Lot G).

Active Duty Service Members (ADSMs)

Active duty and Guard/Reserve members are required to get the flu vaccine.

  • ADSMs may receive their flu vaccine at their unit flu event, at the Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Center by appointment, or off-post at a TRICARE-approved pharmacy at no cost.
  • SRP has vaccines available on appointment basis and TRICARE-approved pharmacies can be found at https://tricare.mil/CoveredServices/IsItCovered/FluVaccine or by calling: 877-363-1303.
  • Appointments can be scheduled at the medical treatment facility by calling the appointment line 719-526-CARE (2273) and walk-ins may be available at off-post pharmacies.
  • Walk-in availability vary by location. Patients seeking flu vaccine should always call the clinic or pharmacy ahead to ensure flu vaccine is available.

When you get a flu vaccine from anywhere besides Evans Army Community Hospital, follow your Service policy guidance for recording the vaccine in your shot record. You'll need the following information:

  • The date the vaccine was given
  • The vaccine name or code
  • Manufacturer
  • Lot number

Active Duty Family Members (ADFMs):

  • Flu vaccines or those age 6 months to 35 months and those age 65 and older are available at the medical treatment facility on an appointment basis. Tricare approved pharmacies can be found by calling 877-363-1303 or by visiting https://tricare.mil/CoveredServices/IsItCovered/FluVaccine.

If you’re unable to get the flu vaccine here, you can visit any participating network pharmacy or TRICARE-authorized (civilian) provider. Visit www.tricare.mil/flu to learn more.
